Vision Mission

The YWCA, working at the local level was affiliated to the National YWCA movement in 1912. It aims to bring together women and young girls regardless of caste, creed, race, nationality or social and economic status through a variety of services. The YWCA of Delhi is rooted in the Christian faith and subscribing to the basis as stated in Article II of its constitution, endeavors to promote the full development of women and girls irrespective of race, culture and creed. It seeks to develop a membership that is responsive through service to the changing needs of the whole community in a changing world.

The Vision of YWCA is to empower women at all levels to struggle for justice. This means moving into a mission that is rooted in the reality of our country where people are victims of economic and social injustice and are manipulated by socio, religious and political powers. This mission demands a change of structure that is hierarchical and patriarchichal, thereby encouraging equal participation of women at all levels. To make our mission a reality,we need to educate women, who will help in advocating attitudinal changes in family and society;and promoting changes in State policies.
